You're unknowingly paying high $ rates to consultants. At least be aware!

Someone is paying INR 6 lakh for their MBA applications. Another person is paying INR 8 lakh, another INR 11 lakh and one is paying INR 14 lakh!

First of all, the MBA schools that these people are targeting like Harvard, Wharton, INSEAD, LBS have an annual tuition fee ranging from 70 lakh to 1 Crore. At the end of the day, even if they get admissions in multiple schools, they will be able to join only one for their MBA. So they would be effectively paying 10% to 20% of the tuition fee to an Admission Consultant. Do you think it makes sense?

Second of all, It needs to be understood that it is the candidates who have the capability to get admission into these schools because of their work experience, education and other aspects. The Admissions Consultant is just a facilitator. Imagine someone who got IIT-JEE Rank 1 and studied from Allen. Do you think if he/she would have studied from FIITJEE, his/her rank would have changed a lot? No, right?

Third of all, MBA was originally a US concept when multiple business schools came up in early 1900s. As a result of that, to help candidates get admissions, MBA consultants in the US started charging in USD because it is their currency. When MBA as a concept spread across the world and other schools like INSEAD in Europe and IIMs in India came up in the 1960s, these consultants kept charging the same prices in USD to candidates all over. Indian candidates should not be paying USD 3000 that translates to INR 2.5 lakh for a single application, and 6-14 lakhs for all applications combined. They should have an INR pricing that aligns with their PPP (paying power parity).

Now that you are aware about the logic behind the pricing, choose wisely!
